The Artist Resource Program provides dance artists with the entrepreneurial tools, monetary stipends, performance opportunities, and industry knowledge to create their own sustainable, fiscally responsible, and well-informed artistic communities.

 

Artists that participate in the Artist Resource program also engage in the Mainstage Performance Series; Dogtown’s signature performance series that is aimed at providing Richmond artists with no-cost performance opportunities and simultaneously providing Richmond residents with access to affordable cultural events intended to empower and celebrate the Manchester district. This series includes the Richmond Dance Festival, The Dogtown Presenter's Series, and Mardi Gras RVA.

THE ARTIST RESOURCE PROGRAM ANNUALLY PROVIDES:

​

  • 56 hours of dance classes per week

  • 32 hours of rehearsal per week

  • 3 mainstage performance opportunities for artists annually

  • 40 hours of technical support per month

  • 2 annual professional development workshops for artists

THE SIGNATURE MAINSTAGE PERFORMANCE SERIES ANNUALLY PROVIDES:

​

  • Richmond Dance Festival - 3 weekend performance series featuring 20 choreographers and 9 dance film artists

  • Dogtown Presenter's Series: 2 weekends of full-length choreography presenting Richmond's premiere choreographers 

  • Mardi Gras RVA: Community-driven performance featuring all Dogtown Artists, live jazz music, and activities for the whole family
